Educator Goals

As an Interdisciplinary Studies Ec-6 Generalist major I am seeking to enhance the learning process of the future leaders of America. I believe that with education comes opportunity. I believe without the proper education opportunity is very much limited. In order to assure that I accomplish my goals accordingly I find it necessary to have short term as well as long time goals. First things first: I plan to be certified before I walk across the stage on graduation day. I would hate to be one of many who have a degree but find themselves incapable of passing the exams. I wish to be working August 2014 if God says the same. I do not want to spend that time taking the exams when I could be teaching instead. I plan to obtain my Masters degree in Education Leadership with the hopes to go into Administration one day. One goal that I am currently looking into is while gaining my 3 years of experience in the classroom I can be working on my Masters degree at the same time. While in high school I was a member of TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators), this particular organization allowed us to work hands on in the classroom. I had the opportunity to do lesson plans and give spelling tests, just as if I were a professional. Upon graduation I was given an interest letter to come back and work for Aldine, which I plan to do.Here is the link to Aldine ISD  where Educators are producing the nations best.. http://www.aldine.k12.tx.us/

  1. The new requirements for student teaching are steep, but they do give you intensive preparation and major incentive to have at least your TExES content passed--and that's what schools want most in order to offer you that crucial first contract.

  2. I like your idea of getting your 3 years of experience while working on your Masters Degree. That is a huge accomplishment that you were asked to come back and teach for the Aldine district. Good job keep up the hard work Jessica.
